Wind the Clock at Bogardus Plaza

Bogardus Plaza is home to New York City's only hand-wound public clock, a historic mechanical timepiece dating back to the early 1900s. Every six days, the clock must be wound entirely by hand, just as it has been for generations. Now, you can become part of that tradition.

This is a rare, one-of-a-kind opportunity to step behind the scenes and help keep a piece of history ticking. ​ Your Clock Master Experience includes:

Details

Location: Bogardus Plaza (Hudson Street between Reade and Chambers Streets, Tribeca)

Duration: Approximately 20 minutes

Donation: $250 (tax-deductible) Your booking is a tax-deductible donation to Friends of Bogardus Plaza, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Every dollar supports the ongoing care, maintenance, and free public programming at Bogardus Plaza, including the preservation of  the clock. 

Minimum Age: 12+ (the clock can be quite heavy) 

Availability: Sessions are extremely limited and open one month in advance.

Booking Information

Because the clock is hand-wound and only needs to be wound once every six days, we can offer only one Clock Master experience on each available date.

The time shown during booking is a placeholder. Once your reservation is confirmed, we'll contact you by email to schedule your 20-minute clock winding session within the selected booking window.

Refund Policy

Your booking is a tax-deductible donation that directly supports Friends of Bogardus Plaza and its mission. For that reason, donations are non-refundable. If your plans change, we're happy to reschedule your experience  with at least 24 hours' notice.
